Best Steps For Radiant Skin
Best Steps For Beautiful Radiant Skin
Good Morning!
Every day, while working with clients, I explain the steps to caring for your skin at home. It's important to know how to use your products, when to use them and what they do. These are general recommendations for most people. These recommendations do not include boosters and other steps that are available for specific issues, it's simply skin care 101 for the masses. At the end of this post you can link to the Beautiful Radiant Skin Products mentioned in this article. So here you go :-)
Morning Routine:
Step 1 - Cleanse your face: with the appropriate Beautiful Radiant Skin Cleanser
Step 2 - Apply the appropriate BRS Skin Softener: Skin Softener is NOT a toner and it is NOT an astringent. In the BRS line this important step does the opposite of what toners and astringents do. The purpose to softening the skin is so the next step of your routine can reach your skin at a cellular level. This step OPENS the skin so it can receive the topical nutrient you will be applying. Our objective is not to close the pores down and then pile on product that will simply sit on top of your skin. Our objective is to open your skin up so it can drink in the next step.
Step 3 - Apply BRS Vitamin-C Elixir to face, neck & chest: This step is absolutely necessary for EVERYBODY, no matter your age. Vitamin-C, at the appropriate percentage, is one of the absolute best antioxidants you can apply topically to your skin. Vitamin-C will protect your skin from the free radicals you are exposed to on a daily basis, both those environmental as well as ingested. The best and most obvious benefit from topical Vitamin-C is that it retards your skins' ability to produce melanin. Melanin is what leads to dark patches and dark spots known as hyperpigmentation. Although Vitamin-C will not lighten dark spots you already have, it will greatly reduce your skin's ability to make more if used daily. This is why it is applied in the morning, to work for you all day while you are exposed to the elements.
Step 4 - Apply your Sunscreen: Sunscreen is a must. You must wear it daily regardless of the weather. In fact, your skin is exposed to the most dangerous UVA and UVB rays when it's cloudy and overcast. It doesn't matter if it's raining or bright and sunny, wear your sunscreen. Exposure to sun is one of the largest contributors to aging our skin faster. Exposure without protection will break down collagen causing early sagging, lines and wrinkles. Sun exposure will result in color and pigmentation problems and will eventually result in that leathery look we're all trying to avoid. Its not a matter of 'if' this will happen with continued exposure but a matter of 'when.' Keep this in mind. Of course it is not only important for the look of your skin, but for your overall health. Skin Cancers on the rise, so wear your sunscreen, SPF-30 or higher.
*******************************************************************************
Night Time Routine:
Step 1 - Follow steps 1 and 2 aboStep 2 - Apply a Glycolic or Retinol Elixir to face neck & chest, avoiding the eye area: Glycolics or Retinols, in high enough concentrations, will exfoliate your skin by dissolving the dead skin cells that attach to the surface. As we age, our cellular turnover rate slows down, causing our skin to hold on to, instead of kicking off, the dead skin cells. When this occurs, you may notice more adult breakouts, dull sallow looking skin, more blackheads and flaky uneven skin tone. BRS Glycolic-50 and Retinol-A Elixirs use very high amounts of natural fruit acids and/or Retin-A [which is balanced with moisture to avoid the dryness that occurs with other Retin-A products]. Only one of these are used, not both. Your skin care professional will let you know which is best for you. Regular use of nightly exfoliators will result in smaller pores and smoother prettier skin. It will expose the fresh new skin beneath. That's where the glow comes from :-)
Step 3 - Apply Nightly Deep Moisturizer: Night time is when your body heals itself while you sleep. Using a deep moisturizer at night is like giving yourself a facial every night. It is undoubtedly one of the most important things you can do for your skin. At BRS we have combined our eye creams into our night creams so they are one, easy to use product. Apply to your entire face, including under the eyes at night and let your skin drink up all the moisture.

The absolute best alternative to hydroquinone for lightening dark spots and all over pigmentation problems of the face, neck, chest and hangs. Inhibits the activity of tyrosinase
(tyrosinase controls the production of melanin). The enzyme related biotechnology used in this specific form of Alpha-Arbutin is 10 times more effective than other forms of Arbutin. When combined with high concentrations of Vitamin-B3 and Bellis Perennis Flower Extract the cellular communication responsible for the increase in melanin is greatly interrupted resulting in lightening of existing dark spots and retarding the skins’ ability to make more melanin.

How to choose the right chemical peel
Chemical Peels benefit the
skin by super exfoliating the dead skin and revealing the new skin
underneath. Checmical Peels do not, however, only affect on the dead
skin cells; they also take some of the healthy skin along with it.
This is a good thing because it is through this "controlled damage" to
the healthy skin that causes the injury/repair reaction desired. This
process results in stronger healthier skin after the peel. It is
essential that you receive the right type of peel for your specific
needs. There are many types of peels and all have their place. Knowing
which peel is best for you should always be determined by a
professional. I have seen many clients coming to me who have tried to
do a chemical peel at home which resulted in hyper-pigmentation (dark
spots) or worse, scarring. Just because you CAN order peels over the
internet does not mean you SHOULD. It is acid you are putting on your
face!
So what is important to know before receiving a peel? Knowing a bit about the most widely used types of peels will give you a leg up when discussing your options with your skin care professional. Knowledge is power. Following are some short descriptions of the most common types of peels.
Salicylic Peel - Best suited for oily or blemish prone skin types. Helps to unclog pores and is a type of beta-hydroxy acid which delivers deeper than the alpha-hydroxy type. Considered a light peel, expect minimal down time. WARNING: MUST AVOID IF ALLERGIC TO ASPIRIN.
Glycolic Peel - Best suited for light scarring from earlier acne or other dark pigmentation issues. This is a alpha-hydroxy peel that helps greatly with blackheads, evens skin color, improves fine lines and wrinkles and smooths rough textured skin. Considered a light peel with minimal down time.
Lactic Peel - Best suited for first time peel users. Will give a healthy glow and is fine for those with dry skin types. Helps fade dark spots and smooths fine lines and wrinkles. Several applications done in a series is usually needed with type of peel. There is little to no down time. Considered a light peel.
TCA Peel - Good for scarring from previous acne, lightens dark spots, smooths fine lines and wrinkles. This is a medium depth peel, going deeper than the others listed above, but can be controlled by your esthetician to meet your specific needs. Can go very deep if necessary by layering the product. There are several days of down time with this peel. Expect browning of the skin, and heavy peeling for most.
Jessner Peel - Personally not my favorite, but you will see it a lot. I do not offer Jessner peels because......well......I don't want to. Other peels are better options because they allow more control of the product. Jessner Peels can go dreadfully wrong very quickly. Jessner are best suited for oily skin types, they can be very drying and irritating if your skin is normal to dry. This peel is an alcohol based peel, stronger than Glycolic or Salicylic. Down time about one week.
Enzyme Peel - Enzyme peels are usually fruit acid based peels. They exfoliate the surface of the skin and are very gentle compared to the other peels above. Good for all skin types, no down time, and you may or may not see physical peeling of your skin.
Phenol Peel - Short of Laser Peels this is the deepest peel available. The risk with this peel is uneven skin tone if the peel is not applied evenly, or is left on for different amounts of time in different areas. Darkening of the skin following this type of peel is likely if extra special care to stay 100% out of sun is not followed. It is great for deeper wrinkles and scarring, but because of the side effects mentioned above it is not one that I favor. Down time is significant and anesthesia is usually required due to the degree of burning. It takes at least a month to recover from this type of peel.
TCA Peel 13% that can be layered up to 5 layers is my favorite
This TCA I use contains:
TCA
Retinol
Chain Phenol
Lactic Acid
Vitamin-C
Peptides
Fruit Derived Stem Cells
Kojic Acid
This peel will not only resurface the skin but will also provide a lift to the skin due to the collagen stimulation which is greatly increased in this type of peel, compared to others. The healing time is about the same as with other peels, 7 days, with the most severe peeling on days 4, 5, & 6. The skin peels in layers, just as it was applied in layers. This peel also lightens the skin addressing hyper-pigmentation with great results.
First time peelers should be advised to start off with the lowest penetrating peels and graduate slowly to the deeper peels. Skin does need to build a tolerance to peels. If you jump directly to the deeper peels you risk injury to the skin resulting in scarring, blistering and dark pigmentation.
Overall the use of peels is a standard in my practice, they give wonderful results over time.

Juicing for Beautiful Radiant Skin
Juicing For Radiant Skin
Juice fasting using raw vegetables and fresh fruits is a healthy choice
to provide your body with the nutrition it needs. Juicing allows your
body to rest and heal during the duration of the fast. Your body
expends an enormous amount of energy simply breaking down and digesting
the food you consume. Fasting allows this energy to be redirected to
areas of the body that need it most. A tremendous amount of healing
occurs during a juice fast. Juicing supplies your body with substantial
amount of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, which help maintain the pH
level of our body, and helps rid our bodies of dangerous carcinogens.
Maintaining the acid to alkaline balance in our bodies is thought to be
the key to many diseases, including cancer. The anti-aging properties of
fresh fruits and vegetables help improve our skin, hair, and nails.
Always
check with your doctor before starting any new nutritional program.
This information is to share and respond to questions I've been asked
based on my research. Juicing and juice fasting is not healthy for
everybody, people with certain conditions should not do a juice fast.

Diamond Microdermabrasion a must for anti-aging
I consider Diamond Microdermabrasion skin care 101. Along with a good at home treatment program one of the best treatments you should receive at least once a month is a good Diamond Microdermabrasion. Especially the older we get, the more important it is to keep our skin exfoliated. As we age our cellular turnover rates slows down, resulting in a build up of dry skin cells on the surface resulting in a dull sallow look to the skin. In order to keep the fresh skin beneath showing and glowing you must exfoliate deeply at least once a month. This is best achieved by rotating your treatment program so you are always addressing one of the 4 most important areas of anti-aging skin care.
1. Exfoliation
2. Color & Tone
3. Hydration
4. Elasticity
Diamond Microdermabrasion is just one way you can address all of these issues at once.

Carboxy C02 Facial Treatment
I love, love, love this treatment. Originally discovered by doctors using it to help heal the skin of burn victims. It has since been realized to have benefits to healthy skin as well. Oxygen, as we all know, is good for the body. As applied to the skin the benefits are as amazing as when you breathe clean fresh air. The C02 Carboxy speeds the skin metabolism, increases blood circulation which helps rid the skin of waste. This alone gives the skin a glow, but it does more. This treatment will balance the skin by allowing moisture to be delivered deeper into the skin, it will dramatically and over time improves scars left behind from blemishes and other causes, it will brighten and lighten the skin and improve skin elasticity. It's a fun treatment to receive too, super bubbly and intense, in a good way :-) Check out more at www.BRSfacialspa.com
Oxygen Facial Treatments
Oxygen Facial Treatments are one of the best ways to deeply hydrate your skin, noticeably getting rid of fine lines and wrinkles, leaves you skin with a dewy moist, and radiant look. Recommended for all skin types, but especially dry or over exposed skin. The treatment lasts for as long as it takes for your skin to be 100% hydrated. For more information on this and other treatments call Cathy at 909-436-4364 or visit the main website at www.BRSfacialspa.com
Best Anti-Aging Treatments for the face
How to Cycle Your Treatments
Clients
often ask me, "What is the best anti-aging facial regimen?" It is
different for everyone, however, there are also many things that
everybody can do to assist in aging more gracefully and beautifully.
Here is what I recommend, and it is what I do for myself as well.
After
age 30 is when most of us begin to notice our skin looking older. It
starts off slowly and then picks up speed. Obviously our skin, as with
the rest of our bodies, begins aging the day we are born. We don't
notice the unwanted changes until much later. To a large degree it is
how we live those years that determines how we will age, and of course
genetics play a role as well.
As
we age our cell turnover rate slows dramatically, when this happens our
skin does not exfoliate itself (shed) as it used to. As a result you
will eventually notice more fine lines and wrinkles, color and tone
changes, texture changes, less radiancy and a more dull sallow
appearance to your skin. Don't worry, all of these things can be
helped. I prefer to take the skin from a trauma state to a recovery
state and back and forth again. This process known as "cycling" is very
important. It is similar to what happens when we exercise any part of
our body. For example, when we lift weights the sore muscles you feel
afterwards is from the damage caused while exercising. This is known
as the trauma phase. Then as the sore muscles heal your body becomes
stronger, firmer and tighter. This is known as the recovery phase.
This back and forthing, if you will, is what builds a stronger healthier
body. Same is true for the muscles and skin on your face.
First Step: (Trauma Phase):
The first step, and one of the most important things you can do as you
age is to make sure your skin continues to exfoliate, revealing the
younger fresher skin beneath. In addition to good at home skin care,
this process is best achieved with professional treatments, especially
if you are over age 35. If your skin is not sufficiently exfoliated
then the products you use on your skin will not penetrate as deeply as
needed to work as well as they should. This step can be best achieved
with a series of Peels and/or Microdermabraisions.
Second Step: (Recovery Phase):
After sufficient exfoliation has been achieved your skin will be ready
to accept and benefit from the next step, which at this point is to push
product down deeply into your skin so it can rebuild from the inside
out. This is best achieved with a series of Ultrasonic Rejuvenation Treatments
which will penetrate high concentrations of Copper Peptides, Hyaluronic
Acid, and other quality ingredients designed to build stronger bonds in
the skin. The Ultrasonic Rejuvenation
increases blood flow and increasing fibroblast
activity, resulting in collagen production. Fibroblast is a cell that
contributes to the formation of connective tissue.
Third Step (Trauma Phase): Now that you have exfoliated in step 1 and recovered in step 2 it is now time for step 3, the Non-Invasive Facelift.
In this step we are addressing the sagging tissue more than anything
else. This treatment tightens sagging, aging and wrinkled
skin, it tightens superficial muscles and relaxes hyper-contracted
muscles resulting in firmer, tighter, smoother more radiant skin by engaging the
body's' organic
skin enhancement compounds on a cellular level. Another-words, it
calls your body's' own healing mechanisms to duty creating stronger
firmer skin. This treatment is combined with the LED Photo Rejuvenation at no extra cost for added benefit.
The Non-Invasive Face Lift
works by quickly reorganizing the collagen strands in the skin tissue
and causing them to lift and firm. As we age, our skin products less
collagen and the skin quality lessens. Often times, the collagen
strands are disorganized due to free radical damage. This process
delivers energy to the tissue beneath, resulting in significant lift
from the collagen reorganization.
Forth Step (Recovery Phase):
Now it is time to recover again to continue the process of
trauma/recovery cycling so your skin can grow stronger and more
radiant. The 4th step is the Oxygen Facial.
This process feeds your skin at the cellular level the nutrients it
craves to heal and thrive. The elixirs used during the Oxygen Treatment
eliminate free radicals that cause premature aging, as well as promote
the production of collagen and elastin. 100% Pure Hyaluronic Acid is
used along with high concentrations of Vitamin-C and other vitamins to
reach your skin deep down where it must in order to affect change. It
is a pleasant treatment and results in an awesome airbrushed look.
The
best way to achieve your best skin is to rotate these treatments
regularly. It's important to
keep the skin both guessing and engaged. Once you complete rotating these
phases you would return to your regular monthly facials for a
while and then back again. I know what you
are thinking how much would this cost? I personally guarantee our
prices are the absolute best you will find anywhere. We use only the
best top of the line equipment and as most you already know, we care so
much about your results that we always go the extra mile for each and

relax and enjoy.
This
is our passion, we work hard for you, we truly do care. We feel great

Skin Care Questions & Answers
Question: fulloffun Anaheim, CA
I have acne. What is the best treatment for me?
My Answer:
I
wish I could give you a generic answer, I can’t. Acne may “look” the
same on everybody, but the causes and it’s treatments are different for
everybody. It’s best to have your skin evaluated first, along with that
will come a series of questions to help your Esthetician better asses
what may be causing your specific issues. For example, some people are
allergic to dairy and this is the cause of their acne, with others it
may be genetic or some other allergy they may not be aware they have.
Acne can be caused by hormonal upset, stress, and other illness as
well. What you put on your face is very important. Most try to cover
it up with heavy make-up, making the problem worse. Some will respond
to lasers while others will not. Treating acne is a trial and error
situation. It’s something that needs to be figured out. I’ll be
honest, there is no one right answer and there is no “cure” it can only
be treated so the breakouts are less often and less severe. ALL clients
with acne REQUIRE an ongoing treatment cycle. If, for example, you get
a series of treatments and your acne gets a lot better, or even goes
away, this does not mean you are done. You MUST follow the
recommendations given to you by your skin care professional to keep it
that way. A good at home skin care routine is very important. I can’t
tell you how many people I see, and whose acne improves greatly, only to
never see them again until the acne comes back. And it will come back
if you don’t follow through. Again, an analogy that always works is the
exercise and weight loss analogy. If you stop exercising and eating
healthy after you lose weight, the weight will come back. It's the way
it is.
Question: babydestructo los Angeles, CA
I
am considering doing the Titan with the following specifications: 35
fluences. Looking at other posts on the titan, it seems like
people think this laser emits radio frequency (rf), but it actually
advertises itself not as a RF laser, but rather a tightening laser that
emits infrared light (1100?1800 nm). Should I be concerned with any
long-term negative effects from this laser such as loss of
collagen/dimpling? Is it safe? It?s been out since 2005. Is that enough
time for any possible long-term negative effects to surface? I now that
infrared light is supposed to be safe at lower frequencies (under1100),
but what about frequencies up to 1800? Any response would be greatly
appreciated!
My Answer:
It's
Infrared. The reviews on the Titan are mixed. I would make sure the
doctor doing the treatment has a good track record, check references
from his/her clients if possible. I prefer RF Radio Frequency
Treatments, same results much less risk. Some of the issues I've
researched with the Titan is a rippling affect of the skin after the
treatment, especially in the forehead area. There are also risks with
the RF Radio Frequency, but it's a bit less. With the RF Radio
Frequency the most common adverse side affect is caused simply by an
inexperienced user. If the setting is too high, for example, it can
cause fat loss, which is the last thing you want when using on the
face. The RF Radio Frequency can be used on face or body. On the body
it is most commonly used for fat depletion. So you see, the person
administering the treatment needs to be well educated on it's use to
know when the settings are correct for the part of the body it is being
used.

Would
you please enlighten as to the difference between Microdermabrasion
& Dermabrasion. I'm confused as to the methods & benefits of
each of these treatments.
My Answer:
Basically
Dermabrasion goes deeper. Like the name suggests.."micro" dermabrasion
is a less invasive exfoliation. Both exfoliate. There is little to no
down time with the Micro-Dermabrasion, but with the Dermabrasion there
could be some down time depending how deep the treatment. Hope this
helps.
Question: Tina From Front Royal VA
I
had aggressive treatments of IPL and Fraxel on my upper lip to help
supposedly correct my pigmentation problem I had from medicine and sun
tanning. Now the problem is worse (I think because I had to many
treatments and also she used the strongest setting). It is worse then
what it was and she then said to strat tri-luma. Nothing is helping the
damage that the laser did and I am now looking for other solutions (I
can't see looking like this for the rest of my life). Please help me.
Should I try microdermabrasion or a peel? I want something that will not
make the problem worse. I wish I never listened to the doctor and used
laser. Please help!
My Answer:
Get
your doctor to prescribe a 6% Hydroquinone Cream combined with Retin-A.
Do not do another laser treatment. It will take a couple of skin cycles
to lighten, but it will as long as you use sunscreen and stay out of
the sun. Typically I do not like the use of Retin-A because of
the drying caused, but in this situation it is more important to attack
the hyper-pigmentation and you can deal with correcting the pH Balance
after.

I've been reading a lot lately about topical stable vitamin C to
improve collagen production, tighten skin, lessen wrinkles etc. is
there truth to this? Can you use it while also doing glycolic peels?
How soon before you see results from Vitamin-C? And is there a brand
you would recommend?
My Answer:
Yes!
Vitamin-C is one of the best vitamins to use topically, as well as
internally. Vitamin-C used topically helps fight free
radicals, especially those caused by the sun. Vitamin-C, by itself,
will not cause collagen production, however, because of the degree in
which it helps fight free radicals it will result in the collagen you do
have staying in tact, thus helping your skin to age slower. There are
other products better suited to collagen production. Vitamin-C can be
used after glycolic peel, just wait 48 hours after the peel to use it.
The Vitamin-C I recommend is from Beautiful Radiant Skin, it's made
from organic citrus fruits, with amino acids and are clinical grade and
professional strength. Apply after cleansing and softening to face,
neck and chest. Allow to penetrate, and follow with moisturize
Question: From AZDesertGal
I
had collagen replacement therapy with roller needles 6 weeks ago and
was told I will not see any difference for 3 months. A friend told me I
should get a roller and use it a few times a week to speed this up and
to maintain it. Should I buy a 1.5 mm roller with 540 titanium needles
as someone suggested? What ingredients should be in the product I apply
when using roller to face for my lines and wrinkles? I am not sure
which collagen booster I should buy and want to find out what
ingredients I should look for. Also I have a very low pain tolerance
and need to know what I need to use before rolling.
My Answer:
The
improvement you will see from the roller is caused from slightly
damaging the skin in a controlled manner causing it to heal the skin
where the damaged was inflicted. The skin in the damaged area grow
stronger as a result. That being said, it is not unlike exercise, for
example. when we exercise we cause controlled damage to the muscle and
tissue resulting in the soreness experienced after a workout. The body
sends energy tot he damaged tissue to heal it resulting in stronger
tighter muscles. As we all know, when we stop exercising the results go
away. Same is true for this type of facial rejuvenation, it requires
constant attention. Once you stop using the roller the results
will diminish For this reason I prefer peels as a means of controlled
damage to the skin. Peels only need to be done a few times a year at
most. The ingredients to look for in your skin care line are
ingredients that will both help the damaged skin to heal and also
promote collagen development. Ingredients to look for are: Peptides,
Penapeptides, Marine Collagen, Hyalouronice Acid, Vitamins A, B5, B6,
C,E,F,K and RNA, DNA, Bio Active Properties, Live Cell Complex, and
Hydroplex. All of these ingredients are in Beautiful Radiant Skin line
of skin care products. Also make sure to check that the "active"
ingredients are high on the list so you know there is enough in there to
actually work.
Question: From alison1298
Does
Microdermabrasion stretch skin leading to wrinkles, and does it provoke
the capillaries to become viable over a period of time?
My Answer:
If
Microdermabrasion is not done correctly it could cause all of the
things you mention. If done correctly it is a very very good treatment
for most. The most important setting on all microdermabrasion machines
is the suction setting. This setting should be set only high enough to
vacuum the dry skin cells being removed without pulling too much on the
skin. Also the technique the Esthetician uses is very important. The
skin needs to be held taunt, but not stretched tight. Again, it comes
down to going to someone who is experienced and has a lot of practical
applications under his/her belt.
Question: From Rom Rom
I
had received a RF treatment, but after my face became very hollow, it
looks like it lost a lot of fat and collagen. How long does it take to
recover?
My Answer:
The
RF Treatment works through heat which is generated by Radio Frequency.
The higher setting are for the body only and NOT the face. When used
on the body it is supposed to have this response because it's main
purpose on the body is to lessen the fat. This is NOT what we want when
applied to the face, for obvious reasons. Higher is not always better,
sounds to me like the machine was set too high. The results of the RF
Treatment when used on the face is a lifted fuller look. It is possible
to be overly aggressive and end up with the result you are describing.
The person administering the treatment should know how high to set the
machine! The good news is as long as you stop the treatment your skin
will return to it's previously treated state over time. RF Radio
Frequency is one of the treatments I do all of the time, several times
each day, and always with great results. It is a wonderful treatment
when done with proper protocol. In the mean time make sure you are
using good products to help build the collagen to help fill in the
hallow areas.
Question: From SpeedyGonzo
Do I need to change my skin care products because they stop working after a while?
My Answer:
This
is a question I hear often. The short answer is no. People have told
me they are concerned that their skin has "gotten too used their current
products and they think they need to change it up. This is simply not
true. Do not believe this myth. It is equally untrue for your hair
care products. Here's the deal, your skin care does not stop working
and your skin does not get used to it requiring a change. It is your
skin that changes, not the products you use on them. This is why it is
so important to have your skin analyzed a few times a year, especially
if you are over the age of 35. many factors affect the condition of
your skin. After all your skin is the larges organ in your body, to
expect it remain the same year after year is not realistic Things like
stress, hormone fluctuations, lifestyle choices, diet, alcohol
consumption medication all affect your skin. When you think your skin
care has stopped working it is time for a skin "check-up" to make sure
the changes your skin is going through do not require to change how you
care for it.
My
clients are the perfect example. During the summer months I move many
of them to a different cleanser and moisturizer maybe add or take a way
and elixir depending on need, because their skin has changed in
response to the seasons and all that goes along with how they live their
lives during that season. The holidays are another great example,
often times it is necessary to boost the topical vitamins and increase
the moisture during the cold winter months and the stressful months of
the holiday season.
So there it is.....your products do not stop working......it is your skin that changes. Make sense?
Question: From Cindy C.
How well does the Clarisonic Skin Brush work? It costs a lot more than many others I see and want to know if it is worth it.
My Answer:
I
actually get asked this a lot, so here's my opinion. Just remember,
you asked...lol. The sonic action, when asked professionally is
used primarily to deposit product deeper into the skin. The exfoliation
portion of the ultrasonic application is secondary, sort of a bonus if
you will. The Clarisonic vibrates at about 300 Mhz times per second, as
compared to the professional machines that work at 1 million Mhz times
per second. Clarisonic claims it only needs to be used for 1 minute a
day, twice a day. the professional machine doesn't even work that fast,
so how can Clarisonic?
The
theory behind the Clarisonic is accurate....that we must exfoliate the
skin first before product can penetrate deeper. I preach this on a
daily basis. But that's the kicker for me.....sonic or ultrasonic
action's main purpose, as mentioned above, is to deposit product deeper
not to exfoliate......exfoliation is secondary. This is why I prefer to
exfoliate with a product or machine designed specifically for
exfoliation which will allow product to deposit deeper into the layers
of the skin.
I
do not believe that any at home ultrasonic or micro-current machine is
strong enough to affect change. They have to be manufactured with
safeguards in place so people do not harm themselves, thus, making them
not very effective. For example, the professional ultrasonic machine
used in my office can actually burn to the bone if not used correctly.
So for obvious reasons the over the counter types cannot perform at the
same level.
What
I recommend to my clients is that they use a good rotating facial brush
that thoroughly exfoliates the skin by removing the dead skin cells,
thus allowing the products applied after cleansing to deposit deeper.
That being said, I do not believe the Clarisonic is worth the money.
Question: From Aimee M.
I
love your products! You sent me some last month and I can honestly say
I see a difference in my skin already! I got the basic kit to try, I
like it so much I want to add the other products now. Which product do
you recommend for lift? I Hope you remember me, we Skyped before I
ordered?
My Answer:
Yes
Aimee, I remember you! It's nice to hear from you again, I'm very happy
you are enjoying the products, I thought you would. FYI, I keep a file
on all SKYPE clients and any client that orders from me, that way I
have a history and can look back to help them.
Well we just DOUBLED the amount of the active ingredient "Hexapeptide-3" in
the Firm & Lift Elixir. With continued use you will see a big
difference, especially around the eyes and mouth. Here's some product
info for you.
Firm
& Lift Elixir is a unique skin firming, and lifting treatment
combines advanced anti aging Hexapeptide-3, multi-peptides with lifting
seaweed and moisture binding Hyaluronic Acid in a silky fluid
suspension. Multi-peptides and Hexapeptide-3 help to reduce the
intensity and frequency of muscle contractions. This assists in
preventing and improving the appearance and depth of fine lines caused
by facial expression. Contains Pentapeptides for improved Collagen and
Elastin production to further reduce and slow the formation of new lines
and wrinkles. Apply a small amount to targeted areas. Especially
effective around eyes, forehead and upper lips. May be used on the
entire face and neck. Use twice daily. Follow with moisturizer.
Recommended for all non-problem skin types.
Whoops,
after thought, lol. I forgot I am writing this on the website
dedicated to services...if you would like to order products you can do
that from the products website which you can access from the top of the
page where you will find the link to the products page. Or simply click here.
